Overview

This position is for a Principal Software Developer/Tech Lead at Elastic, focused on the Agent Framework within their Streams program. The role involves leading the technical direction and architecture of Elastic's agent layer to enhance the data collection process.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable architecture for the agent layer and evaluate new technologies to boost performance.
• Conduct architectural reviews and discussions, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and collaborate with product management on feature prioritization.
• Coordinate efforts across teams, identifying risks to project success and adapting plans as necessary.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer in systems-level software projects.
• Deep knowledge of observability data collection and associated protocols (e.g., OTLP, Prometheus).
• Strong proficiency in Go programming language.
• Experience in designing management and control planes for distributed software.
• Track record of leading multi-team technical initiatives.
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in producing design documentation.
