Overview
The role involves working as a Principal Software Engineer I on the Control Plane Serverless team at Elastic, a company focused on empowering organizations with search technology and AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for major initiatives across the Serverless control plane.
- Lead multi-quarter projects with cross-team dependencies.
- Design, build, and evolve distributed systems for managing Serverless projects.
- Raise the operational bar by leading incident investigations and participating in on-call rotations.
- Mentor team members and uphold standards for software development.
- Advise product management and engineering stakeholders on technical trade-offs and roadmap direction.
- Identify improvements to security, stability, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience, particularly in complex distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native architecture.
- Proficiency in Go and experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Experience operating high-availability SaaS platforms and improving reliability over time.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and adapt to changing project priorities.
- Clear communication skills to influence across multiple teams.
