Overview
The role is for a Principal Software Engineer within the Elasticsearch Search team at Elastic, a company focused on AI-powered search capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to create an industry-leading vector database offering.

Requirements
- Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases, specifically using HNSW, IVF, or similar algorithms.
- Strong skills in core Java, including familiarity with data structures and concurrency.
- Able to autonomously manage projects from design through implementation.
- Experience in collaborative development and managing feedback.
- Familiarity with various data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven record of utilizing AI to enhance development and optimize code.
