    Overview

    This role offers an opportunity to engage in high-impact journalism focusing on Africa’s media and creative economy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Produce 6–8 original, in-depth stories monthly
    • Build and maintain a strong network of industry sources
    • Break news, uncover exclusives, and identify emerging trends
    • Conduct interviews and ensure rigorous fact-checking
    • Deliver analytical, business-focused storytelling
    • Represent Communiqué in media appearances and industry events
    • Collaborate with analysts and research teams
    • Uphold high editorial standards across all outputs

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in journalism (business/media preferred)
    • Strong portfolio of original reporting
    • Proven source-building and investigative skills
    • Solid understanding of business, finance, and media economics
    • Strong communication and public speaking ability
    • Based in Nigeria (Lagos preferred)
    • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
