Overview
The role of Security Engineer, Institutional Trading at Blockchain involves ensuring the secure operation of off-chain trading processes and infrastructure for their institutional business. The company, a leading global player in cryptocurrency, has built a trusted platform for over 90 million wallet holders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Trading, Middle Office, and Quant teams to analyze trading systems and workflows.
- Conduct assessments to identify vulnerabilities and draft Risk Treatment Plans (RTP).
- Act as the primary security liaison for Senior Management and third-party vendors.
- Implement monitoring for FinOps-specific security signals and integrate them into SIEM/SOAR.
- Support key management and ensure proper storage and rotation of service keys.
- Assist in triaging SAST/SCA findings and implementing CI checks.
- Participate in incident exercises and post-incident reviews.
- Document controls and produce risk summaries for the FinOps team.
- Research and implement AI utilities securely within the infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering or application security.
- Proven expertise in Threat Modeling and ability to conduct structured reviews.
- Experience with observability and detection tooling.
- Practical experience with KMS/HSM and secrets management platforms.
- Ability to translate technical debt into business risks for C-suite stakeholders.
- Experience in conducting technical due diligence for third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with blockchain concepts is a plus.
