Senior Manager, Endpoint Protections @Elastic

Overview

The role involves leading the Elastic Security Endpoint Protections team, which focuses on visibility, prevention, and machine learning capabilities for Elastic Defend, a security solution for endpoints and SIEM. The Senior Manager will guide a globally distributed engineering team and foster a culture of feedback, learning, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a world-class engineering team, guiding senior research engineers in endpoint internals, prevention engineering, and machine learning.
• Own the roadmap and drive delivery of new visibility and protection engines.
• Connect the team's work with Elastic Security to enhance detection and protection capabilities.
• Direct the team's machine learning efforts and ensure quality in model development and telemetry features.
• Drive cross-platform protection parity between Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Represent the team at conferences, engaging with customers and partners on protection capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience in people leadership, managing a globally distributed team of technical contributors.
• Substantial hands-on experience as a security researcher with knowledge of attacker tactics and protections.
• Deep understanding of operating system internals in kernel and user mode, especially Windows.
• Experience in reverse engineering and malware analysis.
• Anticipate how protection can be evaded and design for resilience.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for protecting customers and thriving in a distributed environment.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
