Senior Marketing Decision Scientist II @Instacart

Overview

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by leveraging data to serve the varied needs of its community. As a Senior Marketing Decision Scientist II, you will help shape how Instacart measures, forecasts, and optimizes marketing performance across channels, supporting smarter investment decisions and accelerating customer acquisition and retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end marketing measurement strategy across various channels including paid search, paid social, display, affiliates, and CRM.
• Design, launch, and analyze experiments and causal inference studies to quantify impact and inform targeting.
• Build and productionize predictive models using SQL and Python or R, partnering with data engineering for automation and data quality.
• Create executive-ready dashboards and narratives to track KPIs and convey insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Strategic Finance and Marketing leadership on forecasting and planning, presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while enhancing the team's analytical capabilities through peer reviews and mentorship.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in marketing analytics or data science within technology, e-commerce, or subscription businesses.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and either Python or R.
• Experience designing and analyzing marketing experiments with a strong focus on causal inference.
• Proven experience with marketing measurement approaches such as MMM or MTA.
• Background in building dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Experience with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.

Benefits

Instacart provides highly competitive compensation, benefits, and remote work flexibility. This role is remote and comes with a pay range of CAD $168,000 to $177,500, depending on the candidate's permanent work location.

Location

This role is remote but limited to candidates in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
