Overview

They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their fully remote team based in Europe, working closely with stakeholders across North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team while leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
- Design and implement real-time fraud decisioning services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
- Build and evolve the platform for launching fraud decisioning in new countries.
- Integrate region-specific fraud and risk vendors and operationalize machine learning and AI signals.
- Support peers and stakeholders across the product development lifecycle.
- Create and monitor metrics for system availability and support operational needs.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code reviews and mentoring.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Experience with distributed systems using AWS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
- Strong system design skills with a track record of delivering maintainable services.
- Fluency with AI-driven engineering practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with data-rich environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and safe production deployments.
- Strong communication skills in distributed teams.
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset focused on learning and team success.
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, or Airflow (nice to have).
- Background in fraud prevention or real-time decisioning (nice to have).
- Experience building for multiple markets (nice to have).
- Experience in the fintech sector (nice to have).
