Senior Software Engineer - Clickpipes (CDC/Streaming) @ClickHouse

Overview

ClickHouse is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer position for the ClickPipes - Database Integrations team. This role involves solving complex database-related challenges and distributed systems problems, contributing to an open-source CDC platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Build data-intensive systems, designing high-throughput integrations with various databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Handle edge cases in production scenarios involving database setups and large transactions.
• Debug complex production issues and improve tools for system reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and write clear internal and public documentation.
• Work directly with customers to understand integration requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance operational efficiency and lead technical discussions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in building data-intensive software solutions.
• Proficient in Go or willing to quickly ramp up in Go.
• Experience deploying and operating services on a major cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Practical experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills.
• Clear communication in writing and verbally.

Bonus Points

• Experience with database replication technologies and durable execution frameworks.
• Familiarity with data formats and protocols (Avro, Parquet, Protobuf).
• Experience with data processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark, Flink).
• Contribution to open-source software.
