Overview
The Senior Software Engineer role at Neo4j focuses on building the core intelligence of GraphAware Hume, a graph-powered analytics platform. This remote position primarily targets candidates in the UK, Czechia, or Italy.
Key Responsibilities
- Building APIs for intuitive user interaction with complex data.
- Designing secure, scalable access control systems for mission-critical environments.
- Orchestrating workflows to automate graph analytics, inference, and real-time insights.
- Optimizing application performance and collaborating with other engineers to ensure seamless user experiences.
- Contributing to architecture and technical design with the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in backend systems (8+ years) with exposure to large-scale, complex applications and cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in Java with knowledge of modern software engineering principles like Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and Test-Driven Development.
- Experience with Spring or similar frameworks, emphasizing secure, modular, and scalable APIs.
- Knowledge of designing data models, especially relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and graph-based.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and automated deployment workflows.
- Strong security mindset with knowledge of secure software design principles and common vulnerabilities.
- Comfort with remote team collaboration tools and practices.
- Bonus: Familiarity with graph technologies (Cypher, Neo4j), event-driven architectures (Kafka), and cloud-native development.
