Senior Software Engineer II, Marketing Enablement & Technology @Instacart

Overview

The Marketing Enablement & Technology (MET) team at Instacart builds the systems, APIs, and data pipelines powering Instacart's Paid Marketing channels. The Senior Software Engineer II role involves providing technical leadership for the Paid MarTech pod and enhancing team productivity through process evolution and tooling improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the team's technical roadmap and architectural decisions.
• Enhance developer productivity by evolving processes, tools, and abstractions.
• Lead team-wide initiatives and propose strategic work on behalf of engineering management.
• Champion advanced observability, resilience, cost optimization, and security principles.
• Mentor engineers and proactively resolve conflicts across teams.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience with expertise in leading technical roadmaps.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and experience designing reusable abstractions.
• Deep technical knowledge of building scalable, high-throughput systems.
• Ability to partner with senior Product and Marketing leaders.
• Proven track record of enhancing team productivity through process improvements.
• Excellent communication and influence skills.

Benefits

Instacart offers highly competitive compensation and benefits, including a base pay range of CAD 196,000 — CAD 207,000 for Canadian candidates, equity grants, and annual refresh grants.

Location

Remote within Canada, specifically hiring in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia only.
