Senior Software Engineer II, Marketing Enablement & Technology @Instacart

Overview

The Marketing Enablement & Technology (MET) team at Instacart builds the systems, APIs, and data pipelines powering Instacart's Paid Marketing channels. The team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, drive the technical roadmap, and enhance team productivity through process evolution and tooling improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the team's technical roadmap and architectural decisions for reusable, scalable systems that serve marketing needs.
• Enhance developer productivity by evolving processes, tools, and abstractions.
• Lead initiatives and partner with senior Product and Marketing leaders on product design and technical decisions.
• Champion observability, resilience, cost optimization, and security principles across projects.
• Mentor engineers and resolve conflicts blocking execution across teams.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience with expertise in leading technical roadmaps and architectural decisions.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and experience in designing reusable abstractions.
• Deep knowledge of scalable, high-throughput systems including observability and security considerations.
• Proven ability to partner with senior leaders to influence product roadmaps.
• Strong communication and influence skills for executing cross-functional initiatives.
