Overview

The role involves working as a Senior Software Engineer for the Integrations Team at Elastic. The team focuses on building how Elastic integrates within the AI ecosystem, ensuring that it connects seamlessly with the tools and platforms used by developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its underlying infrastructure using Go.
• Create a platform for universal agent skills, including authoring, publishing tooling, and linting.
• Ensure the correctness of skills and tools through evaluations.
• Design and implement integrations that embed Elastic within third-party AI ecosystems, collaborating with product teams and partners.
• Enhance the Elastic CLI to improve developer efficiency.
• Develop and maintain libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack, utilizing languages such as Go and Rust.
• Contribute product thinking and advocate for valuable features informed by ecosystem trends.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, particularly with backend systems and services.
• Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks and understanding of LLMs, agents, and protocols like MCP.
• Significant experience with Go and ideally other programming languages.
• Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
• Ability to read and contribute to codebases in unfamiliar languages.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
• Strong product thinking and usability focus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in a remote, globally distributed environment.
