Overview

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch Performance team. In this role, contributions will be made towards performance engineering initiatives with a focus on high-quality code and technical analysis to improve Elasticsearch performance optimization and predictability.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to core performance engineering initiatives from development to production, focusing on impactful optimizations.
• Implement foundational performance models and methodologies for complex, distributed systems.
• Support optimization strategies to ensure Elasticsearch remains performant, predictable, and scalable.
• Profile and analyze system behavior to identify bottlenecks.
• Ensure robust performance benchmarks and regression detection.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
