Senior Systems Engineer (Identity and Access) @Flexport

Overview

Flexport is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Identity & Access) to design, implement, and administer Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. This role encompasses overseeing a broader SaaS ecosystem and endpoint management infrastructure to ensure secure user lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain IAM platforms.
• Administer Okta, directory services, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and password management.
• Manage core collaboration tools including Google Workspace, Microsoft O365, Slack, and Jira/Confluence.
• Oversee Mac and Windows devices using Jamf and MS Intune.
• Build automated workflows for provisioning, deprovisioning, and access management.
• Establish role-based access control (RBAC), entitlement reviews, and access certification processes.
• Lead onboarding of new SaaS applications for Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Collaborate with the Security team to embed security best practices.
• Author technical operating procedures and compliance policies.
• Provide technical leadership and escalation support for IT operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IAM systems engineering and IT infrastructure management.
• Deep knowledge of Okta configuration and application integration.
• Strong understanding of IAM standards including SAML, SCIM, OAuth, OIDC, IGA, RBAC, and LDAP.
• Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and Okta Workflows for automation.
• Proven track record managing Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Jamf, and Intune.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Compliance-focused approach to navigate industry requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
