    About the MSc in Water and Sustainable Development

    This program integrates interdisciplinary approaches to water science, policy, and sustainability, offering a regular track (one year) and a research variant (two years). Students will engage with themes such as water governance, environmental systems, sustainable infrastructure, and community resilience.

    Eligibility

    • National of one of the eligible Small Island Developing States (e.g., Belize, Fiji, Jamaica, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu).
    • Must have academic admission to the MSc programme in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft.
    • Must be living and/or working in an eligible SIDS country.
    • Must agree to conduct MSc research in their home country or region.
    • Must participate in and contribute to seminars organized by the programme’s learning networks.
    • Must commit to returning to their home country or another priority country after their studies.

    Selection Criteria

    • Strong academic background and demonstrated potential for leadership.
    • High motivation.
    • Relevant work experience in water management, environmental planning, or sustainable development.
    • A strong case for co-funding (for partial scholarships).
    • Emphasis on gender balance, with priority given to female applicants.

    How to Apply

    Applicants must first apply for admission to the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft. Eligible candidates are automatically assessed for scholarship consideration upon receiving their academic admission letter. Required documents include academic transcripts, degree certificates, English proficiency results (if applicable), two letters of recommendation (one from an employer), and a detailed motivation statement.
