    Soul City Institute is seeking passionate and dedicated Social Mobilisers to support youth-focused programs across South Africa.

    Job Title: Social Mobilisers
    Job Location: Gauteng (Duduza), KwaZulu-Natal (Ndwendwe & KwaDukuza), Limpopo (Bungeni & Tlangelani), Mpumalanga (Nkomazi & Gert Sibande), Northern Cape (Gasegonyane & Joe Morolong), Eastern Cape (Libode)
    Closing Date: 30 June 2026 at 16:30
    Contract: Fixed-term contract ending 31 March 2027

    The role involves implementing and monitoring health and social initiatives aimed at promoting sexual and reproductive health, preventing gender-based violence, and empowering young people through community engagement and advocacy.

    Key Responsibilities

    Demand Creation

    • Support education on SRH, HIV prevention, and gender-based violence through community outreach, radio shows, and events
    • Mobilize youth for HIV testing, PrEP uptake, and SRH services

    • Distribute IEC materials and conduct health talks and community dialogues
    • Support the rollout of Soul Buddyz Clubs and increase awareness of project services

    Coordination and Monitoring of Projects

    • Implement recruitment, registration, and regular activities of Soul Buddyz Clubs
    • Facilitate club meetings, develop activity plans, and ensure proper documentation

    • Track attendance and participation, and support club members’ engagement
    • Support Youth Zones/AYFS initiatives in health facilities, ensuring timely data collection and reporting

    Stakeholder Management

    • Identify and engage key stakeholders to support project goals
    • Facilitate meetings with local authorities and community leaders
    • Promote the visibility and impact of youth programs

    General Duties

    • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records
    • Collaborate with program officers to ensure seamless program delivery
    • Seek innovative approaches to meet program objectives
    • Monitor and address challenges faced by youth participants

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric qualification; post-matric qualification advantageous
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in community development or activism

    • Understanding of gender, youth, and children’s issues
    • Knowledge of advocacy and social change initiatives
    • Commitment to activism for gender equality

    Competencies

    • Dedication, attention to detail, and initiative
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure
    • Strong team player with good communication skills
    • Understanding of development, gender issues, and NGO networks
