Software Engineer 3, Networking & Observability @MongoDB

Overview

The role involves joining the MongoDB Networking & Observability team to enhance components that facilitate communication between distributed processes within a distributed database system. The team focuses on improving MongoDB’s networking capabilities, resource utilization efficiency, and implement observability features.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and improve the current functionality of the MongoDB networking and observability codebase.
• Lead medium-sized projects related to networking code or observability frameworks from technical design to delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues at all stages of the project lifecycle, including ideation, requirements gathering, design, execution, and delivery.
• Own and exemplify leadership principles in your work.
• Continue to learn and grow within your career.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building distributed systems.
• Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
• Hands-on experience with building production-level code (C++ required).
• Interest in networking, observability, and the impact of computer architecture on SaaS availability.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills, with a motivation to collaborate.

Location

This role can be based out of the New York City office or remotely within the United States and Canada.
