Software Engineer, Full Stack (Document Canvas) @Benchling

Overview

Benchling is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Document Canvas team, focusing on the widely-used Notebook product. This role involves building intuitive interfaces, developing robust backend services, and ensuring the platform scales to meet the needs of scientists.

Key Responsibilities

• Own large-scale projects end-to-end, from ideation to rollout.
• Engineer across the stack, designing backend models & APIs and crafting frontend components.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other teams.
• Create new products and enhance existing ones to feature completeness.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical discussions within and outside the team.
• Shape the technical vision and incremental roadmap for projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Proficient in developing user-facing and backend experiences for web applications.
• Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks.
• Track record of leading sophisticated initiatives and breaking work into iterative projects.
• Ownership of key product areas and eagerness to learn about life sciences.
