Software Engineer II - Platform Infrastructure (Orchestration) @Elastic

Overview

The role involves working as a Software Engineer II at Elastic, where you will contribute to building and operating production services for the Elastic Cloud Platform. The team focuses on enabling other engineers to develop and ship software at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build features and components for production services.
• Take ownership of well-scoped pieces of larger projects, from requirements through to production.
• Propose technical solutions and convert them into working code.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on complex issues and participate in code reviews.
• Help operate the services owned by the team and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Automate repetitive tasks and communicate status and blockers effectively.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Go or strong proficiency in another systems language.
• Understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Familiarity with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Curiosity about distributed systems and communication at scale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a distributed environment.
• Focus on quality, including testing and observability.
