Sr. Counsel, Product @Pinterest

Overview

The role involves joining Pinterest as a Senior Counsel in the Product team, where the focus is on providing legal support and advice to the product and engineering teams. This position requires expertise in various legal issues related to product development, especially in digital advertising, privacy, IP, and generative AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with internal teams to identify and manage legal issues throughout the product development process.
• Advise on emerging areas such as privacy, digital advertising, AI, IP/copyright, content acquisition, and data use.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex partnerships and commercial agreements.
• Translate complex legal frameworks into actionable guidance.
• Monitor and interpret relevant laws and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, FTC rules, etc.).
• Develop scalable legal processes and AI-enabled solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders to influence decisions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate with a minimum of 8 years of legal experience, including 1-2 years in-house at a tech company preferred.
• Experience in digital advertising/ad tech and consumer product legal issues.
• Strong background in privacy regulations.
• Negotiation experience with major technology and commercial deals.
• Exceptional judgment, integrity, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Strong project management skills.
• Bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Benefits

The position includes a base salary range of $158,765 — $326,870 USD and eligibility for equity. Additional information about Pinterest's culture and benefits is available separately.

Location

This role is remote within the United States, with occasional in-office collaboration required (approximately 1-2 times per year).
