Overview

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its Infrastructure Data Science team. The role will focus on collaborating with engineering and cross-functional teams to enhance the measurability and actionability of Pinterest’s infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to define, measure, and improve infrastructure health, quality, and efficiency.
• Build and refine metrics, dashboards, and analytical frameworks for complex technical systems.
• Strengthen data foundations by improving metric definitions, auditing data quality, and contributing to measurement improvements.
• Design and analyze experiments to quantify the impact of infrastructure changes on user experience and business outcomes.
• Translate ambiguous technical problems into clear analyses and actionable recommendations.
• Support high-priority investigations related to infrastructure performance, reliability, cost, and measurement quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure measurement across various domains.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant academic and industry experience with large-scale data.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong SQL and analytical programming skills, with experience in working with messy data.
• Experience with production-ready data pipelines and measurement systems.
• Solid foundation in experimentation and rigorous result interpretation.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently while managing multiple project priorities.
• Curiosity and a builder mindset focused on improving measurement foundations.

Benefits
