Overview
Pinterest is seeking an experienced Staff Data Scientist to join the Finance & Business Operations team. This hybrid role focuses on enhancing forecasting and finance analytics, internal tool-building, and AI adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Own forecasting tooling end to end, maintaining and improving the team's primary forecasting workbench.
- Design and build user-facing features including visualizations, performance optimizations, and ensure the tool meets user needs.
- Drive AI adoption by transforming AI capabilities into reliable tools for finance users and create enablement materials.
- Monitor AI research and engineering roadmaps to identify opportunities for the CFO organization.
- Shape the AI strategy and advise executives on technology and investment decisions.
- Deliver recurring finance analytics and support core CFO output.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and facilitate training sessions.
- Set technical and analytical standards for the team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics engineering, or applied ML.
- Strong background in time-series forecasting, quantitative analysis, and SQL; proficiency in Python preferred.
- Experience building internal web tools and dashboards, and applying AI to real workflows.
- Ability to interpret AI research and engineering roadmaps, and advise on AI strategy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree is a plus.
