Overview

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by providing innovative solutions that make grocery shopping effortless. The Staff Experience Designer will join the Core Experience team, focusing on enhancing user experiences across multiple touchpoints in the online grocery app.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and lead experiences across consumer-facing products to create highly personalized journeys for users.
• Lead end-to-end experience design briefs for various surfaces, including agentic interfaces.
• Craft narratives, naming, and value propositions for experiences and features.
• Define and own experience frameworks that map key customer journeys.
• Shape content, hierarchy, and information architecture across various surfaces.
• Codify experiential principles to guide user understanding and feelings in flows.
• Utilize AI-assisted prototyping in the design process, aligning with Instacart's design system.
• Work with Research to uncover insights about customer behaviors and preferences.
• Mentor partners on experience-led thinking, advocating for cohesive experiences.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products and experiences.
• Strong portfolio showcasing complex, multi-step journeys and flows.
• Track record of projects demonstrating fluency in multiple design languages.
• Proven ability to collaborate with product and business leaders.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to structure strategic storytelling.
• Experience navigating ambiguity and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Fluency in Google Slides and Figma, with a desire to explore other design tools.

Benefits

Instacart offers highly market-competitive compensation and benefits, including a base pay range of $198,000 — $209,000 CAD for Canadian candidates, as well as eligibility for new hire equity grants and annual refresh grants.

Location

This is a remote position available to candidates in Canada, specifically in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia only.
