Overview

The Staff Offensive Security Engineer role at Robinhood involves enhancing security measures across applications, infrastructure, and physical environments. Key Responsibilities

• Evangelize the Offensive Security Team’s findings and projects with stakeholders and collaborate with other teams to create security solutions.
• Mentor and guide members of the Offensive Security team.
• Plan and execute red team exercises that simulate real-world attack scenarios.
• Perform threat modeling and penetration testing across various environments.
• Develop scripts and tools for automating security testing activities.
• Partner with detection and response teams to enhance incident readiness.
• Clearly communicate findings and collaborate with engineering teams for remediation.
• Lead security incidents requiring immediate attention from penetration testing or red team findings.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in red team operations or advanced penetration testing.
• Proven mentoring experience in developing other security engineers.
• Strong communication skills, able to convey findings to various audience levels.
• Familiarity with network protocols such as DNS and TCP/IP.
• Experience with MacOS and Linux environments.
• Skill in using modern software development tools to evaluate security.
• Understanding of Mitre’s ATT&CK Framework and defensive tools/techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and JavaScript.

Location

This role is based in Bellevue, WA; Menlo Park, CA; or New York, NY, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
