Staff Product Designer, Design Innovation @Pinterest

Overview

Pinterest is seeking a methodical and thoughtful Staff Product Designer to join the Design Innovation team. This role focuses on evolving product design language and crafting delightful experiences while working collaboratively with product, engineering, research, and data science partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Design product experiences across the Pinterest ecosystem with a high standard of craft and consistency.
• Collaborate with Design Innovation teammates and cross-functional partners to bring design language to key product features.
• Conduct quality audits, review flows and handoffs, and contribute hands-on design when needed.
• Rapidly visualize and prototype new ideas using Figma, code, AI, and other tools.
• Work with engineering to ensure high-quality execution of user-centric solutions.
• Incorporate insights from research and industry trends to refine design directions and innovate.
• Participate in design reviews to maintain high levels of design execution and accessibility.
• Mentor other designers in craft and best practices, enhancing their impact.
• Communicate design thinking and vision clearly to a variety of stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating visual and interaction design skills.
• Experience in staff/principal-level roles, influencing and partnering cross-functionally.
• Expert-level motion and visual design skills, with an understanding of usability impacts.
• Ability to design within and extend a design system while balancing consistency and innovation.
• Comfortable with Figma prototypes, AI, and optionally front-end code.
• Strong product thinking and systems mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesize ambiguity into actionable design problems.
• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
