Overview

The Staff Security Software Engineer in AI Security Engineering at Databricks will lead the technical direction for AI security tools that enhance the security of the Databricks platform and its AI capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and technical strategy for AI security tooling, including adversarial testing and threat detection.
• Set engineering standards for design review processes and security properties of the tooling.
• Lead the design of AI platform capabilities and define AI security assessment methodologies.
• Serve as a technical authority across various teams and lead integration of AI security tooling outputs.
• Establish AI security engineering standards for teams building AI-connected systems.
• Mentor engineers on AI security architecture and lead design reviews to improve tooling quality.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in security software engineering or a closely related field.
• Expertise in Python engineering with a focus on production systems and security integration.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML security, including adversarial ML and model security.
• Experience designing security architectures across multiple teams and systems.
• Strong communication skills for cross-team alignment on technical direction.
• Proven track record in delivering high-quality security tooling for production environments.
