Staff Software Engineer (Remote) @Imply

Overview

Imply is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Applications team, focusing on building customer-facing applications using Apache Druid. The role emphasizes redefining observability and security data.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain micro-services and backend software components in modern Java.
• Develop and maintain state-of-the-art features within Apache Druid.
• Lead in the design and development of major features across teams.
• Coordinate with PM, UX design, frontend engineers, and backend engineers to deliver major initiatives, new features, and products.
• Be on-call for production issues (2 weeks per cycle, 4-6 times per year).

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in building and maintaining reliable services in Java or a similar language.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, cloud providers such as AWS, and related technologies.
• Experience using relational and/or OLAP databases.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
