    Overview

    The PATH4AIPOCUS Project is a three-year initiative funded by the Gates Foundation, creating new opportunities in Nigeria focused on Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Nutrition Health (MNCNH). The project supports the integration of Artificial Intelligence–enabled Point-of-Care Ultrasound (AI-POCUS) into antenatal care (ANC) services to generate evidence for sustainable implementation in resource-constrained settings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the execution of project activities at the state level.
    • Lead facility readiness assessments and site activation.
    • Oversee the training, deployment, and operationalization of AI-POCUS devices.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with the State Ministry of Health, SPHCDA, facility leadership, and professional bodies.
    • Facilitate state-level consultations and technical review meetings.
    • Support ethical approval processes and regulatory compliance.
    • Supervise trained providers to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and referral pathways.
    • Monitor competency development and provide supportive supervision.
    • Ensure implementation meets quality assurance and safety standards.
    • Track and report key performance indicators.
    • Submit monthly and quarterly progress reports.
    • Support state-level costing, evaluation, and health systems assessment activities.
    • Identify and escalate operational risks.
    • Support culturally appropriate community engagement strategies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or related discipline. A postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maternal and child health program implementation.
    • Experience working with State Ministries of Health and Primary Health Care Development Agencies.
    • Strong knowledge of local health systems and socio-cultural contexts.
    • Demonstrated skills in reporting, stakeholder engagement, and supervision.
    • Proficiency in relevant local language(s) is an added advantage.
