Overview
Blockchain is a global crypto company that connects the world to the future of finance. The Technical Lead, Lending & Savings role involves leading the engineering direction for the company's core Consumer products: crypto savings and crypto-backed lending.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction and architecture of the Lending & Savings platform.
- Design and build scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems.
- Make key architectural decisions balancing scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Remain hands-on, contributing production-quality code and reviewing critical changes.
- Drive engineering best practices across system design, testing, deployment, observability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
- Own the delivery of technical initiatives from design through production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Identify technical risks early and propose solutions.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence within the team.
- Continuously improve engineering productivity through automation and modern development practices.
Requirements
- Strong experience building backend systems using Kotlin or Java.
- Experience designing distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
- Experience with Redis or other NoSQL technologies.
- Understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, incident response, and production operations.
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
- Experience leading engineering teams while remaining hands-on.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Location
