    Overview

    Blockchain is a global crypto company that connects the world to the future of finance. The Technical Lead, Lending & Savings role involves leading the engineering direction for the company's core Consumer products: crypto savings and crypto-backed lending.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the technical direction and architecture of the Lending & Savings platform.
    • Design and build scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems.
    • Make key architectural decisions balancing scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
    • Remain hands-on, contributing production-quality code and reviewing critical changes.
    • Drive engineering best practices across system design, testing, deployment, observability, and operational excellence.
    • Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
    • Own the delivery of technical initiatives from design through production.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
    • Identify technical risks early and propose solutions.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence within the team.
    • Continuously improve engineering productivity through automation and modern development practices.

    Requirements

    • Strong experience building backend systems using Kotlin or Java.
    • Experience designing distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka or similar technologies.
    • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
    • Experience with Redis or other NoSQL technologies.
    • Understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
    • Experience with monitoring, observability, incident response, and production operations.
    • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
    • Experience leading engineering teams while remaining hands-on.
    • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Location
