Technical Services Curriculum Engineer @MongoDB

Overview

The Curriculum Engineer will work with the Technical Services (TS) team at MongoDB, focusing on creating and maintaining technical education modules for both new and upskilling team members. The role involves using technical expertise to enhance the support tasks performed by the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve internal training materials (videos, slides, reference materials, evaluations, etc.).
• Identify technical and procedural training needs across the team.
• Encourage a culture of continual learning through live training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Build out the training curriculum, module hierarchy, and training policies.
• Foster contributions from subject-matter experts for the creation and review of technical content.
• Establish and report on training KPIs and success metrics.
• Create environments and technical exercises for hands-on engineering workshops.
• Improve practices and tooling related to the training content lifecycle.
• Evaluate and recommend effective delivery methods for training.
• Suggest a cadence to keep key skills fresh and support new product readiness.
• Work collaboratively with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones.

Requirements

• Experience in developing and delivering technical education/training.
• Ability to consolidate and present technical concepts from subject-matter experts.
• Familiarity with course development methodologies.
• Proven success in creating, delivering, and managing effective hands-on learning.
• Desire and ability to rapidly learn new technical skills.
• Technical skills: experience with databases, coding (Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby, C#), software development projects, Linux system administration, technical support, data analysis, and evaluating training effectiveness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
