Technical Services Engineer, 1st shift (Weekend) @MongoDB

Overview

The Technical Services Engineer role at MongoDB involves advising customers and solving complex MongoDB-related problems. This position requires deep technical expertise in MongoDB's ecosystem, including database servers, drivers, and cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve complex issues regarding architecture, performance, recovery, and security for MongoDB customers.
• Advocate for customers by collaborating with product management and development teams.
• Contribute to internal projects, including the development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.
• Mentor and train new team members, aiding their knowledge of new product lines.
• Manage large-scale database systems and assist with issues holistically across application, database, and storage layers.
• Participate in volunteering for coverage during special events throughout the year.

Requirements

• Systems engineering experience, particularly with Linux performance and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS).
• Experience with storage solutions (NAS, SAN, SSD).
• Ability to read code, and knowledge of programming/scripting in languages like Java, Python, or C++.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on feet.
• Collaboration skills and a desire to help customers.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technical skills rapidly.
