The internationally renowned journal New Media & Society is inviting applications for 1–2 Editors to lead and shape scholarship on digital media and society. This role is pivotal in influencing one of the most dynamic fields of interdisciplinary research.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the journal’s strategic direction, maintaining and enhancing its academic quality and impact.
• Overseeing the peer review process, including submission management and editorial decisions.
• Working closely with Associate Editors, reviewers, and authors.
• Making final decisions on manuscript publication.
• Managing and developing the editorial board.
• Coordinating with the publisher to meet production timelines.
• Leading editorial meetings and contributing to annual board discussions.

Requirements

• A higher degree in a relevant research discipline.
• At least five years of professional or academic experience.
• A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• International academic or professional networks.
• A commitment to inclusive and multicultural scholarship.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage a high workload and meet deadlines.
• Prior editorial experience and familiarity with manuscript management systems is an advantage.
