The Digital Content Creator will play a key role in growing WWF South Africa’s digital presence across platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging video channels.
The successful candidate will create engaging short-form video content, identify impactful conservation stories, collaborate with experts and partners, and help connect WWF’s mission with younger audiences.

Key Responsibilities
The Digital Content Creator will be responsible for:
Digital Content Strategy and Production
Developing and implementing WWF South Africa’s TikTok and YouTube content strategy.
Producing engaging short-form video content that connects with youth audiences.
Identifying trends, creator formats, and audience behaviours to improve digital engagement.
Scriptwriting, filming, editing, and repurposing content for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
Storytelling and Stakeholder Engagement
Finding compelling conservation stories from across WWF programmes and campaigns.
Building relationships with WWF staff, subject matter experts, influencers, and partners.
Supporting WWF representatives and experts to confidently participate in digital content creation.
Coordinating contributors to deliver authentic and impactful stories.
Audience Growth and Analytics
Monitoring content performance and audience insights.
Using analytics tools to improve engagement and channel growth.
Managing community engagement and conversations across digital platforms.
Supporting campaigns aimed at growing youth participation and WWF’s supporter base.
Communications Support
Assisting with campaign ideas, storytelling initiatives, and wider communications projects.
Ensuring digital content aligns with WWF’s communication and fundraising objectives.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
A relevant diploma or degree in media, communication, film, digital marketing, or a related field.
At least 3 years’ experience creating content for TikTok or similar short-form video platforms.
Proven ability to create engaging video content that drives audience interaction.
Experience working with creators, influencers, experts, or organisational spokespeople will be advantageous.
Experience in environmental or science communication is desirable.
Strong storytelling, copywriting, and social media content creation skills.
Proficiency in TikTok, Instagram Reels, and video editing tools.
Knowledge of social media analytics platforms such as TikTok Analytics and Meta Business Suite.
Strong project coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
Understanding of internet culture and Gen Z online behaviours.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for conservation, sustainability, and making science accessible.
Willingness to occasionally travel for shoots and WWF events.
