Overview

The UNFPA Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) is seeking a Young and Emerging Evaluator (YEE) to join its evaluation team in Nairobi, Kenya. This role supports high-quality evaluations to strengthen evidence-based policymaking in global development and humanitarian programming.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain repositories of background documentation and conduct preliminary document reviews
Support financial and data analysis for evaluation exercises
Assist with stakeholder mapping, sampling, and engagement strategies
Support the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
Contribute to planning and logistics of field missions across evaluation projects
Draft and review evaluation reports in line with UNFPA quality standards
Coordinate meetings, workshops, and consultations with stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in development studies, public health, social sciences, statistics, demography, evaluation, or a related field
At least two years of professional experience in evaluation, research, or monitoring and evaluation
Experience contributing to evaluations, preferably in international organizations
Strong analytical skills, including statistical, financial, and survey data analysis
Excellent report writing and communication skills in English
Familiarity with results-based management and evaluation methodologies
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools
Fluency in English; proficiency in French or Spanish is an advantage

Benefits

The consultancy is offered for 11 months with the possibility of extension based on performance. Some travel may be required.
