Overview
ACLED is seeking an Associate Media and Digital Communications Officer for its External Affairs team on a fully remote basis. This role supports media outreach and digital communications strategies, with a focus on Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia-Pacific regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop media contacts and relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
- Monitor media coverage and track key performance indicators.
- Coordinate with social media teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Assist in designing and producing digital content such as social media posts and graphics.
- Support planning, recording, and editing of podcasts and webinars.
- Generate timely and relevant content aligned with current news cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, media studies, political science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in media relations, digital communications, or journalism.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Understanding of media operations and landscapes.
- Experience in digital content creation (social media posts, graphics, videos).
- Familiarity with audio/video editing tools (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Premiere).
- Ability to monitor media, analyze engagement metrics, and produce reports.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish; additional languages are advantageous.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with insurance, risk, or conflict zone media outlets is desirable.
- Experience with project management tools and SEO/analytics is a plus.
Benefits
Salary: USD 40,000 per year.
