    The International Rescue Committee is currently recruiting for the position of Admin Officer in Sokoto, Nigeria. The organization was founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein. It provides humanitarian aid, relief, and long-term support to individuals affected by conflict, persecution, and natural disasters.

    This is a full-time role open to candidates with BA, BSc, or HND qualifications. The Admin Officer will be based in Sokoto, Sokoto State. They will support the Administration Manager in overseeing administrative operations. The role focuses on ensuring smooth day-to-day office activities and coordinating travel and logistics. In addition, it includes maintaining documentation and supporting overall administrative efficiency to enable field teams to meet program objectives.

    The selected candidate will assist in managing office operations, including maintenance, supplies, and logistics. They will support the implementation of administrative policies and procedures. Additionally, they will provide administrative support to field teams, handle purchase requests, and help maintain an organized filing system for all documents. The role also involves supporting lease and facility coordination by maintaining accurate records of lease agreements, payment schedules, and renewals. At the same time, the candidate must ensure compliance with organizational standards.

    In addition, the Admin Officer will provide travel and logistics support, including arranging hotel bookings, processing travel-related payments, and reconciling expenses. The role requires maintaining up-to-date records of administrative activities. Moreover, they must ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies and support the preparation of regular reports. Financial responsibilities include assisting with petty cash management, expense monitoring, and supporting payment processing and budget preparation.

    Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, management, social sciences, or a related field, along with relevant administrative experience. Experience should be preferably within a humanitarian or development environment. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is important, and knowledge of local languages and the Zamfara context is considered an advantage.

    The position is based in Sokoto, located in the northwest region of Nigeria.
