AI Engineer - FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) @Databricks

Overview

The AI Forward Deployed Engineering (AI FDE) team at Databricks is a specialized, customer-facing team that helps customers build and productionize AI applications. The role involves working cross-functionally with teams to deliver cutting-edge AI solutions and serve as a technical advisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop GenAI solutions using the latest techniques to solve customer problems.
• Oversee production rollouts of GenAI applications.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers across various domains.
• Present at conferences and establish thought leadership.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence product priorities.

Requirements

• Experience building GenAI applications with tools like HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.
• Expertise in deploying production-grade GenAI applications with optimizations.
• Hands-on industry experience in data science, utilizing tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
• Experience with machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Passion for collaboration and driving business value through AI.
• [Preferred] Familiarity with the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark™.
• Willingness to travel periodically to see customers.
