Overview
The Kukah Centre, a policy, research, and governance institution, seeks an experienced Deputy Director (Administration) to provide strategic operational support to the Executive Director and strengthen institutional governance, compliance, and administrative systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Finance, Human Resources, Administration, Procurement, and Logistics.
- Serve as Secretary to the Board, supporting governance coordination and communication.
- Translate strategies into operational plans and performance frameworks.
- Coordinate strategic implementation across administrative functions.
- Prepare operational reports and performance dashboards.
- Support the Executive Director in institutional engagements and stakeholder coordination.
- Coordinate board and committee meetings, prepare documentation, and maintain records.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, donor requirements, and audit recommendations.
- Support enterprise risk management and internal control systems.
- Improve internal operational processes and support digital transformation.
- Strengthen data-driven decision-making and coordinate between programme teams and support units.
- Contribute to institutional growth by developing operational systems for new programmes and partnerships.
Requirements
- First degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Management Sciences, Law, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Development Studies, or related discipline.
- Professional certification in governance, administration, finance, compliance, or project management is an advantage.
- 12-15 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including strong administrative leadership in development institutions, public sector, or NGOs.
- Experience supporting boards, managing governance frameworks, and in senior management roles is highly desirable.
