Overview
Lyft is seeking an Associate Counsel with extensive legal expertise to support various employment matters integral to the company's business. The role requires collaboration across functions to navigate legal challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a variety of legal matters with an emphasis on employment law.
- Collaborate with the Legal Team to develop and implement employment strategy aligned with Lyft's business objectives.
- Proactively manage discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, and trial strategies.
- Analyze employment matters and participate in resolution strategy decisions.
- Efficient management of outside counsel, including staffing and budgeting.
- Provide legal guidance to management on employment-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers and third parties.
Requirements
- J.D. from a top-tier law school.
- Member of the California bar.
- Experience practicing law (X years) at a leading law firm or in-house.
- Strong preference for candidates with previous in-house experience advising technology clients.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Understanding of the transportation and ridesharing industries.

Location
Hybrid role: Expected to work in the office in Nashville for at least 3 days per week.
