    Overview

    The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) are seeking a GLFx Chapter Africa Hub Officer to serve as the regional focal point for GLFx in Africa, fostering a connected network of locally led organizations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary focal point for Africa-based GLFx chapters, managing communication and convening meetings.
    • Design and deliver activities to strengthen engagement, collaboration, and learning within the network.
    • Coordinate regional activities, including GLFx Africa sessions within global and regional conferences.
    • Collaborate with the GLF Communications team to promote stories and achievements from African chapters.
    • Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among African chapters and engage with partner organizations.
    • Design and coordinate transparent processes for allocating grants and resources to chapters.
    • Align with the GLF Africa Hub Coordinator to advance the Africa regionalization agenda.

    Requirements

    • University degree in sustainable development, landscape restoration, conservation, agroecology, community development, or related field.
    • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
    • Experience working with field-based restoration initiatives, social movements, or community-driven processes.
    • Strong project coordination and partnership management skills.
    • Ability to produce high-quality written content for diverse audiences.
    • Experience leading, co-founding, or actively participating in a community-based organization is desirable.
    • Experience collaborating with grassroots initiatives and international institutions is desirable.
    • Background in restoration, advocacy, or collective action is desirable.

    Benefits

    • Full-time consultancy position.
    • Consultancy period: 15 April – 15 October (with possibility of extension).
    • Home-based in any African country (UTC+1 to UTC+3 preferred).
