Overview

The Child Protection Assistant will support the implementation of child protection activities at field level, focusing on case management, psychosocial support, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify at-risk children.
• Implement case management processes and facilitate psychosocial support activities.
• Organize parenting sessions and promote child well-being.
• Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders on child protection cases.
• Conduct service mapping and promote interaction with communities.
• Ensure proper use of Child Protection Information Management Systems (CPIMS) and prepare reports.
• Train and mentor community volunteers and provide ongoing supervision.
• Work closely with Child Protection Officers and participate in coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Degree or HND in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related Social Sciences.
• At least 2 years of experience in child protection programming.
• Experience in case management, psychosocial support, and safeguarding mechanisms.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Hausa is an added advantage.
