    Overview

    This program offers a UN Volunteer (UNV) Child Protection Officer position with UNICEF, focused on safeguarding children's rights and enhancing access to protection services for vulnerable populations in Nigeria.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of school-based psychosocial support programmes.
    • Strengthen child-friendly spaces and improve referral systems for vulnerable children.
    • Contribute to training teachers and school administrators on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
    • Support child protection desks in schools and ensure appropriate care for children affected by violence and conflict.
    • Strengthen the capacity of social service workers and promote community engagement on child protection issues.
    • Contribute to monitoring, reporting, data management, and coordination with government agencies and community structures.

    Requirements

    • Nigerian nationals or legal residents.
    • At least three years of relevant experience in child protection, social development, or related fields.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, International Development, Human Rights, or related disciplines.
    • Experience in humanitarian or development settings, particularly within UN or international organizations, is an advantage.
