Overview

This program offers a UN Volunteer (UNV) Child Protection Officer position with UNICEF, focused on safeguarding children's rights and enhancing access to protection services for vulnerable populations in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of school-based psychosocial support programmes.
Strengthen child-friendly spaces and improve referral systems for vulnerable children.
Contribute to training teachers and school administrators on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
Support child protection desks in schools and ensure appropriate care for children affected by violence and conflict.
Strengthen the capacity of social service workers and promote community engagement on child protection issues.
Contribute to monitoring, reporting, data management, and coordination with government agencies and community structures.

Requirements

Nigerian nationals or legal residents.
At least three years of relevant experience in child protection, social development, or related fields.
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, International Development, Human Rights, or related disciplines.
Experience in humanitarian or development settings, particularly within UN or international organizations, is an advantage.
