    Overview

    This consultancy offers an opportunity to support child protection initiatives in North-East Nigeria, focusing on government-led coordination systems and reintegration strategies for children affected by armed conflict.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the transition to government-led Child Protection coordination systems.
    • Strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Social Welfare.
    • Prevent child recruitment and other grave violations.
    • Provide technical leadership for the reintegration of children and women affected by armed conflict.
    • Promote peacebuilding and sustainable protection systems in North-East Nigeria.

    Requirements

    • Education: Master’s Degree in Child Protection, Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, or related field.
    • Experience:
      • 7–10 years of relevant experience in child protection programming.
      • Proven experience in reintegration of children affected by armed conflict (CAAC).
      • Experience with coordination mechanisms (e.g., CP AoR, technical working groups).
      • Strong background in capacity building and government system strengthening.
      • Experience in humanitarian or complex environments.
    • Skills & Knowledge:
      • Strong understanding of Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE).
      • Familiarity with Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) and CP Minimum Standards.
      • Excellent analytical, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Language: Excellent written and spoken English.
