Overview

This consultancy offers an opportunity to support child protection initiatives in North-East Nigeria, focusing on government-led coordination systems and reintegration strategies for children affected by armed conflict.

Key Responsibilities

Support the transition to government-led Child Protection coordination systems.
Strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Social Welfare.
Prevent child recruitment and other grave violations.
Provide technical leadership for the reintegration of children and women affected by armed conflict.
Promote peacebuilding and sustainable protection systems in North-East Nigeria.

Requirements

Education: Master’s Degree in Child Protection, Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, or related field.
Experience:
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in child protection programming.
- Proven experience in reintegration of children affected by armed conflict (CAAC).
- Experience with coordination mechanisms (e.g., CP AoR, technical working groups).
- Strong background in capacity building and government system strengthening.
- Experience in humanitarian or complex environments.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE).
- Familiarity with Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) and CP Minimum Standards.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Language: Excellent written and spoken English.
