Overview
Climate Home News is seeking a Subscriptions, Marketing and Communications Officer to grow their global climate journalism community and subscription program. This remote, freelance, part-time role is crucial for expanding their reader base and ensuring the sustainability of their independent journalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and curate social media (LinkedIn) to increase brand recognition and drive traffic.
- Disseminate partner content to maximize reach.
- Develop strategies to grow readership and engage climate-conscious audiences.
- Lead the production of newsletters and email bulletins, optimizing open/click-through rates and A/B testing.
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) and AI platforms.
- Build and nurture relationships with the audience, fostering a sense of community.
- Gather feedback through surveys and direct communication.
- Track performance metrics (website traffic, social media engagement, subscription conversions).
- Produce reports detailing strategy effectiveness and contributions to growth.
- Utilize analytics tools (Google Analytics, Brevo) to understand audience behavior.
- Collaborate on developing and promoting online and offline events.
- Monitor mentions and citations of Climate Home News.
- Develop media partnerships and collaborate on website optimization to support subscription growth.
Requirements
- Experience in subscriptions, digital marketing, or sales, preferably in media or non-profit.
- Keen interest or background in climate communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, SEO, email marketing tools, and analytics.
- Creativity, proactivity, and a data-informed approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage time flexibly.
Benefits
Salary: £300 – £450 per week (depending on experience and geographic location)
