Overview
Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster in more than 200 markets. The Commercial Counsel will support all aspects of the company's commercial legal efforts, including contract negotiation and legal review.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements in partnership with sales and other stakeholders.
- Support the legal review and negotiation of various inbound commercial contracts, including technology agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial contracting processes and develop internal policies.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Provide business-oriented legal advice on contract terms and deal structures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into clear legal terms.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial law, preferably in-house at a technology company.
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial contracts.
- Exceptional judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership and adaptability.
