    Overview

    The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO is seeking an experienced Communication Consultant to support the MSPglobal Initiative, focusing on marine spatial planning awareness.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage MSPglobal digital channels (website, newsletter, social media)
    • Produce engaging multilingual content for events, trainings, and publications
    • Develop graphic design products and videos for outreach
    • Support translations in Spanish and French
    • Organize online and face-to-face events
    • Produce outreach materials such as brochures, press releases, and newsletters
    • Monitor social media and web analytics for reporting
    • Respond to inquiries from the MSPglobal audience
    • Follow UNESCO and IOC communication guidelines
    • Collaborate with the central IOC communications team
    • Ensure timely delivery of communication materials

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in media/communication, public relations, international relations, or related fields; postgraduate degree preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant international experience in communications, public relations, or advocacy, preferably related to ocean issues
    • Proven experience in multilingual institutional communication and organizing international events
    • Skills in graphic design, multimedia content creation, video editing, and basic web content development
    • Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish
