Overview

The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO is seeking an experienced Communication Consultant to support the MSPglobal Initiative, focusing on marine spatial planning awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Manage MSPglobal digital channels (website, newsletter, social media)
Produce engaging multilingual content for events, trainings, and publications
Develop graphic design products and videos for outreach
Support translations in Spanish and French
Organize online and face-to-face events
Produce outreach materials such as brochures, press releases, and newsletters
Monitor social media and web analytics for reporting
Respond to inquiries from the MSPglobal audience
Follow UNESCO and IOC communication guidelines
Collaborate with the central IOC communications team
Ensure timely delivery of communication materials

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in media/communication, public relations, international relations, or related fields; postgraduate degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of relevant international experience in communications, public relations, or advocacy, preferably related to ocean issues
Proven experience in multilingual institutional communication and organizing international events
Skills in graphic design, multimedia content creation, video editing, and basic web content development
Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish
