Overview

The role involves providing legal guidance on employment matters at Brex, a company focused on enhancing finance through smart solutions for businesses. The Legal team assists the company in navigating the regulatory environment while supporting its growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to Brex’s People team on performance management, terminations, recruiting, compensation, and more.
• Support the development and implementation of employment policies and practices.
• Manage employment-related disputes, litigation, and regulatory inquiries.
• Oversee outside legal counsel on employment matters.
• Identify employment-related risks and recommend solutions.
• Research employment laws applicable to Brex's workforce across locations.
• Support the development of training on employment-related topics for managers and employees.
• Handle subpoenas and legal requests related to employment matters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in employment law, either in-house or at a law firm.
• Experience working closely with People / HR functions as their legal advisor.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Practical problem-solving mindset to navigate a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to convey legal guidance clearly.
• Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $220,000 - $270,000 USD, with the overall compensation including base pay, equity, and other benefits based on various factors.

Location

This is a hybrid role, requiring at least three days in the San Francisco office weekly, with opportunities for remote work.
