Counsel, Litigation & Risk @Lyft

Overview

Lyft is looking for a bright, energetic, and self-motivated attorney with at least 5 years of litigation experience to join their expanding Legal Team. This role involves actively overseeing litigation and providing legal guidance across various departments to address novel legal challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage legal matters focusing on personal injury cases.
• Collaborate with Legal Team members to develop and implement litigation strategies that align with Lyft’s business objectives.
• Handle all aspects of litigation including discovery, motion practice, and trial strategies.
• Analyze litigation matters to participate in resolution strategy decisions.
• Oversee outside counsel management, including case management and budgeting.
• Advise management on litigation matters.
• Provide legal advice to cross-functional teams.
• Communicate effectively with insurance carriers and third parties.

Requirements

• 5+ years of practice at a leading law firm or in-house.
• J.D. from a top-tier law school.
• Active member of a state bar in good standing.
• Experience advising technology clients preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with complex workloads.
• Understanding of the transportation and ridesharing industries.

Location

This role is fully remote, but candidates must be based in the Los Angeles metro area.
