    About the Role

    Cristosal is seeking a communications specialist who can simplify complex human rights issues into engaging, accessible, and shareable content without losing accuracy or impact. The Coordinator of Communications & Storytelling will oversee both storytelling and brand management, ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels while helping grow the organisation’s visibility and supporter base.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will lead communications initiatives across several areas.

    Storytelling and Content Development

    Responsibilities include:

    • Transforming investigations, legal casework, advocacy campaigns, and regional analysis into compelling public-facing stories.
    • Developing narratives tailored to diverse audiences, including donors, journalists, policymakers, academics, and influencers.
    • Producing and managing content for social media, newsletters, blogs, websites, and donor communications.
    • Creating engaging messaging that highlights Cristosal’s human rights work and organisational impact.

    Audience Growth and Public Engagement

    The Communications Coordinator will also be expected to:

    • Develop proactive communications strategies that generate public interest rather than simply responding to requests.
    • Pitch stories and headlines to journalists and major media publications.
    • Identify opportunities for earned media coverage.
    • Build relationships with creators, influencers, and strategic partners.
    • Strengthen audience engagement across digital platforms.
    • Align communication initiatives with fundraising and donor engagement objectives.

    Brand and Editorial Management

    The position also involves maintaining Cristosal’s brand identity by:

    • Ensuring consistent messaging and editorial standards across all communication channels.
    • Maintaining visual branding and organisational voice.
    • Reviewing and editing communication materials before publication.
    • Supporting staff and contractors in producing high-quality communications.

    Content Production

    The Coordinator will produce a wide range of communication materials, including:

    • Social media content.
    • Website updates.
    • Blogs and feature articles.
    • Email newsletters.
    • Short-form videos and reels.
    • Briefing documents and communication resources.

    Required Qualifications

    Cristosal is looking for candidates who demonstrate both strategic thinking and strong communication skills.

    • Strong strategic communications skills with a focus on audience growth and measurable impact.

    Salary, Location, and Employment Details
